Built for the job site, not the office.

Sign in with your phone number. Techs can now sign in with just their cell number: tap Continue with phone, enter the six-digit code we text you, and you're in. No email or password needed, so every tech can have their own login even when the crew shares one email address. The time clock also shows for every company that has used it, including when you work across more than one company, and it always stays in reach while you're clocked in so you can clock out. Phone-only accounts can now sign out from Settings.

The time clock. A new CLOCK tab lets techs punch in and out right on the phone, with today's and this week's hours always in view — and the office dashboard shows who is on the clock now and everyone's hours by day, week, month or year. While you are clocked in, the app shares your location with your office about every 15 minutes so dispatch knows which crews are near which jobs: it asks you first, a visible notification stays up the whole time it is on, and clocking out stops it immediately — never on your own time. Punches work offline and sync when you have signal.

Automatic crash reporting. If the app runs into a problem in the field, it now tells us about it automatically — with the technical detail we need to fix it — so issues get resolved before they cost you a visit. No personal data leaves the device: emails and login details are stripped from every report.

Service reports that read like service reports. Two new template-builder controls. Any yes/no question can now opt out of deficiency flagging — so on a service checklist, "No" can simply mean "not performed this visit" instead of printing as a red deficiency on the customer's report. And any question can be shown only when another answer calls for it: follow-ups stay hidden until the answer that makes them relevant, on the phone and on the report alike. Questions marked fails-the-job keep their teeth either way.

One list for every visit. Every visit type now works the same way: open the visit, see the list of units to service, work down it. Suppression, hood, sprinkler and alarm visits list their systems; extinguisher visits keep the site list they have always had — now editable, so you can add a unit found on site or take one off the list, offline included, and a removed unit stays removed. Checklists now come straight from your company's template, so what the builder says is exactly what the tech sees, and the visit report groups cleanly by unit.

Unit lists on custom visits. Template-driven visits get a proper roster: pick the truck, trailer or system you are on, file its checklist, and move to the next — each unit tracks its own done / not-done state instead of one long undifferentiated form.

Straight to the checklist. Opening a template visit from Home now lands you in its checklist instead of a generic screen, and non-extinguisher visits stop borrowing extinguisher wording.

Build any inspection. The template builder grew up: give any field scan-to-fill or photo-text capture, set the full service cadence vocabulary (annual, semi-annual, quarterly, monthly and more), and pick which visit type a template belongs to. Custom visit types built on the dashboard now reach the phone as their own checklist. The builder itself reorders fields by drag and stopped scrolling sideways.

One compiled report per visit. The visit is now the hub: work down a single list, and the report builds itself device by device as you go — a draft you can keep editing until you mark the visit done. Bulk pass is back and knows about auto-fails, so passing a run never quietly overwrites something the rules already failed. Serial and model fields got their own scan-to-fill buttons, and the scanner takes one deliberate scan at a time instead of firing on everything in frame. Dates use month/year pickers, and NFPA rules auto-fail an inspection when a service date is past due — including an overdue hydro date on a suppression job. Suppression inspections were reworked around picking the system first, with a system name and model field, shut-off checks that fail the inspection, and fixes to signatures and drag ordering. Evidence photos now attach to the inspection exactly once, failed items send their full failure detail, and if a submission is rejected the app tells you why instead of silently queuing it. Also fixed: the crash when opening a suppression inspection, and offline work now shows a sync status pill, queues a pass on a brand-new asset instead of blocking you, and stops surfacing raw developer text.

Suppression inspections, rebuilt. The full 35-point checklist from the field — every item is Yes / No / N/A with its own Details: add photos and notes on any line. Answer "No" and the app asks for a photo and a note; a failing item marks the whole inspection FAILED, clearly, before you submit. Annual-only items hide on semi-annual visits. New Info page on every suppression job: cylinders, fusible links by temperature, hydro and recharge dates, shut-off locations, protected appliances — editable in the field and remembered for the next visit. Record Materials & Services right from the inspection so the office can drop them straight onto the invoice. Your company can add its own checklist items for every tech from the dashboard's Template Builder.

Easier in the field. Picking a site fills in the customer automatically when creating a visit. Suppression forms capture the number of fusible links. Reports now show every detail of every inspection type — labeled answers, failure notes, site and asset info, photos. New built-in Help Center and a replayable walkthrough (Settings → Replay the walkthrough). The scan button moved out of the bottom bar — scanning starts from your visit.

Inspection forms now match the job. Suppression, hood, sprinkler and alarm inspections get their own fields (system gallons, cartridge size, hydro date and more) instead of the extinguisher form. Scan button and labels now follow the inspection type.

Field reliability and trust: no more silent data loss offline, honest print status, and a smoother start for invited techs. The big one: when you record a failed inspection with no signal, it now syncs with the full failure checklist, your note, and the photos, instead of arriving as a bare "fail" with no reason. If your phone reboots in a dead zone, the app keeps you in your company and works offline instead of dropping you on the "join a company" screen. Print status is honest now, so the app no longer claims a tag printed when nothing came out (real on-device printing to the Zebra is coming in the next build). An invited technician can create their account straight from the invite link without wandering into the paid sign-up funnel, and there is now an in-app way to report a bug or send feedback from Settings. Under the hood: sign-in makes fewer network round-trips so taps feel faster, and we tightened what leaves the device to error reporting.

Rebuilt the extinguisher report with correct service dates, grouped logs, and a new kitchen suppression report. The extinguisher inspection now has a proper type dropdown (ABC, CO2, wet chemical / Class K, and the rest of the NFPA set), and the type drives the right hydrostatic and 6-year internal service due dates instead of the old guesswork. I dropped the redundant "safety pin intact" question and the report now shows the next annual, hydrostatic, and 6-year dates with overdue and due-soon flags. The Logs tab can group reports by extinguisher or by visit, so you can see exactly what was done where. New units inspected in the field now save their type and service dates properly. I also added a Kitchen Suppression inspection report (NFPA 17A / 96), and fixed the keyboard covering the field when you pick a site or a teammate while creating a visit or task.

Mobile is sign-in only — new accounts are created on the web. I removed the sign-up flow from the mobile app. New accounts now get created on the web at tracelock.tech, where billing and payment live, so there are no more half-finished accounts that signed up on the phone but never picked a plan. The login screen is now sign-in only — email and password, Google, Apple, and password reset — with a clear "New to TraceLock? Sign up at tracelock.tech" link that opens the website. If you try to sign in with an email that has no account yet, you'll get a friendly nudge to sign up on the web first. Existing users sign in exactly as before.

Scan failures stay on the report, a sync indicator on every screen, manual escape on the camera, and a first-run welcome. Scan failures now stay on the inspection report — tapping Serial Number or Model Number fills the field right where you're working instead of pushing you to a separate page that lost your data. A new sync indicator sits at the top of every screen so you always know whether your work is saved, still syncing, or waiting because you're offline — tap it to retry. The camera now has a "Can't scan? Enter manually" escape visible the whole time, for damaged or missing labels. And first-time users get a 3-card welcome flow explaining scan, fill-in help, and the sync dot — re-triggerable any time from Settings.

Manual Entry status-bar fix + dropdown resilience. Fixed the Manual Entry screen so its title no longer gets clipped behind the Android status bar, and made the manufacturer dropdown degrade gracefully into freehand text entry when the catalog is still loading or comes back empty — so you can always keep typing instead of getting stuck. Also fixed the same status-bar clipping on the Home screen.

Offline-queue jam fix + scanner failure-card rework. Fixed the offline queue piling up after heavy scanning — telemetry events were being written into the user-data sync queue and never drained, so it grew to hundreds of stuck items. Telemetry now stays out of that queue entirely. I also reworked the scanner's no-match failure card so I can pre-fill a serial number or a model number when the catalog doesn't recognize a label, and fixed the "Enter Manually" button that wasn't responding.

Prefix normalization, image-picker gallery fix, catalog v2. Serial-prefix matching is now strict and normalized, so look-alike barcode prefixes no longer resolve to the wrong catalog model. Fixed an ImageLoader crash when attaching a photo from the device gallery. Catalog v2 expansion: Buckeye nameplate-token parsing, kitchen Class-K agents, clean-agent units, and B260 / B424 model reconciliations.

Scanner reliability + label-OCR fix, visit visibility, error tracking. Hardened the barcode/label scanner against intermittent misreads and fixed an OCR parsing bug on extinguisher labels. In-progress visits are now visible while work is underway (previously only surfaced once completed). Added end-to-end error tracking and structured, user-friendly API error responses in place of raw stack traces. Version bumped to versionCode 100 baseline for future builds.

Fixed a false crash-recovery prompt on first launch and made sign-in more reliable on slow networks.

Fixed the camera going black on newer Android phones when switching back to the scanner.

Fixed a camera freeze-and-reload loop, made Google sign-in always show the account picker, and finished dark mode on five more screens.
